If you have the time, take this "Stress Off" option, ride the public bus, "meet the natives", but most of all, while already in southern Israel... enjoy sunny Eilat & maybe even swim or snorkel in the Red Sea.

DAY 1 Independent arrival to JLM or TLV Central Bus Station & travel to Eilat by Egged public bus - we pre-book your seats on the bus.  Bus time options from JLM are : 07:00 am or 10:00 am or 14:00 pm or 17:00 pm. (JLM - Eilat about 4.5 hrs ride). Bus time options from TLV : First bus 06:00 am, then every hour & half till 20:00 pm. DAY 2 Morning pick up from Eilat Hotels. Transfer to Arava Border, cross to Jordan & travel to Petra (about 2 hours) via Aqaba. In Petra, walking part begins from the gate of the Archaeological Park through Al-Siq, a winding trail at the bottom of a natural deep canyon, at the end of which reveals itself the famous Treasury Monument, proceed on to the Amphitheatre, Kings' Tombs, Roman Market Road & more. Hear story of the Nabateans who have established Petra as their capital on the “Spice Route”. Lunch break - lunch is served, buffet style, in one of Petra's hotels. Travel back & time permitting short tour of Aqaba. Return via border crossing to Eilat hotels.

DAY 3 Optional morning at leisure in Eilat. Independent arrival to Eilat Central Bus Station & travel to JLM or TLV by Egged public bus.

Bring along: Passport, $55 in cash for border taxes, sunscreen lotion, hat, comfortable walking shoes, warm clothes (Nov. to Mar. very cold in Petra. Jan - Feb. may snow!)  Don't forget your swim suit for the Red Sea... while in Eilat !

Please Note ♦ November till March - warm clothes required (very cold in Petra & may snow in Jan - Feb.)  ♦ Border is closed on Yom Kippur & Muslim New Year ♦ Visiting Petra involves much walking (around 4 hours) ♦ There is an option for a horse & carriage ride out of the site at your own expense.
