About Moshav Yad Hasmona
Situated in the Judean Hills half way between Tel Aviv & Jerusalem, the Communal Moshav was founded in 1971 by a small group of Christians from Finland. It is named after eight Austrian Jewish refugees who escaped to Finland in 1938, but were handed over to the Gestapo and 7 of them died in Auschwitz. In 1978, a group of messianic Jews joined the moshav. Most of the members are now Israelis and the main spoken language is Hebrew.
