Tour Itinerary

Sunday / DAY 1

Meet in Nazareth at the Church of the Annunciation, walk through the local market to a wonderful lookout on Nazareth and its surroundings. We then start the walk from the mountain that Is believed to be the place where Jesus had disappeared to the people of Nazareth, after his sermon in the Synagogue (Luke 4:29). It passes through the outskirts of nowadays Nazareth, crossing Beit Keshet Forest, and Reaching to Mt. Deborah. In this section the traveler goes through sites with major theological significance , both in the Bible and the New Testament, such as Jezreel valley with its history of prophets like Elijah and Elisha, Judges Gideon and Deborah, King Saul death on Mt. Gilboa and much more. Mt. Tabor, with its cross-culture significance is an appropriate view for most of the trail. Lag by car for overnight accommodation.

Monday / DAY 2
Our trail crosses the Beit Keshet Forest with its lush green old oak trees. We will pass via Cana of the Galilee, where Jesus has performed his first miracle turning water into wine. Lag by car for overnight accommodation.

Tuesday / DAY 3
Staring to walk from the Kibbutz, crossing vast wheat fields of kibbutz Lavi, we will climb our way to the magnificent view point from the Horns of Hattin, where the famous battle between Saladin and the Crusaders took place. We then make our way down passing Nebi Shu’eib (Considered to be Jethro’s tomb by the Druze). Entering into gorgeous Arbel valley, explore the ancient Arbel synagogue, and take our first views of the sea of Galilee. In this section the traveler could experience and link the natural places which were the inspiration for Jesus’ parables as described in the New Testament. Lag by car for overnight accommodation.

Wednesday / DAY 4
We begin the last day in the fertile Gennosareth valley, through Magdala (the birth place of Mary Magdalene) and the mustard fields (which are mentioned in Jesus’ parables), visiting a newly discovered first century synagogue. Entering Jesus’ main area of ministry, we will climb the Mount of Beatitudes, and then get back down to Tabgha and visit the Church of Multiplication, St. Peter’s Church, and end this marvelous day at Biblical village of Capernaum**.
