Negev Bike - Cycling Trails from Mitzpe Ramon

On the Crater's Rim - 19 km / 23 ml  - From Mitzpe Ramon
The guided/lead bike trail begins at Desert Shade Eco-Lodge. Bike along the Ramon Crater Rim via the "Sculpture Park" , a ride offering outstanding view of Machtesh Ramon (Ramon Crater). Enter Nahal Hava, a dry riverbed & ride along while exploring the unique desert flora, fauna & geological formations. Exit Nahal Hava and bike southbound in parallel to route 40 on the "Plains of the Wind" – back to Desert Shade Lodge – where riders will have a chance to freshen up & sip an herbal tea at our "Full View Gallery".

** The trail is lead by a professional desert biking expert. 

Bring along Your own water bottle, comfortable biking shoes, warm clothes between Oct. to Mar., snacks for the way.

The Desert Vineyards Trail -  17km / 20 ml  -  From Mitzpe Ramon
The guided/lead bike trail begins at Desert Shade Eco-Lodge. Bike across the little town of Mitzpe Ramon, situated on the Ramon's Crater Rim. Proceed westbound to the "Sheik's Tomb" & ride into to the desert to explore the Negev Highland Desert vineyards - yes, vineyards in the desert!!  Take a short break to hear the fascinating story of the developing wineries in the Negev Highland Desert. Bike around the Alpaca Farm towards the Planetarium & ride back to Desert Shade Lodge – where riders will have a chance to freshen up & sip an herbal tea at our "Full View Gallery".

Important remarks concernign trails' conditions
♦ Children under 12 years cannot join the trails unless booked as a private tour
♦ First Aid kit is attached to trail leader's bike
♦ Winter in Mitzpe Ramon & the High Negev Desert is very cold & may snow - dress accordingly!
♦ Summer in MItzpe Ramon is slightly hot, but comfortable
